This anatomically correct bit sits lightly and evenly on tongue and bars and provides more room and freedom of movement for the tongue. When taking up the reins an even pressure is applied to the bars and tongue. The tongue and bars are not squeezed laterally. The use of bit guards prevents lip pinching. Thanks to its slightly curved shape, the comfort bar lies very quietly in the horse"s mouth. Mullen mouthpieces are considered to be particularly gentle and kind on the mouth. This enables horse and rider to communicate in a more gentler and easier way. The Comfort bit is ideal for young and sensitive horses. The Filet Baucher — Also referred to as a Hanging Cheek  Snaffle this bit places itself perfectly in the mouth. With rein action the mouthpiece changes its angle and puts pressure on palate and tongue.
When a contact is taken the upper arm is angled forwards causing the mouthpiece to lift — thereby suspending it in the mouth and reducing the pressure across the tongue and the bars of the mouth. This is often beneficial for cases of over sensitivity. If the horse is going forward into a contact and active behind this will encourage a rounding action and help tremendously with the outline.
